Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet Available Beginning Jan 1, 2010
Library provides Wireless Internet connection for the very first time!
Flora Public Library becomes a "hot spot" for wireless Internet beginning January 1, 2010. Wireless Internet or Wi-Fi (short for Wireless Fidelity) is a means of accessing the Internet without cables, wires, or phone lines. Patrons will be able to surf the Internet with their own wireless-ready laptop. This new service will be available to anyone who visits the library during regular hours.
Patrons will provide their own equipment to connect to the wireless network. Wi-Fi users will be asked to accept the "Wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet Use Policy" at the time of log-on. Users may also obtain a paper copy of the policy at the Circulation Desk.
Because patrons will be using their own equipment, library staff cannot provide technical assistance to Wi-Fi users. The wireless Internet connection has filtering that is comparable to the library's Internet workstations. The best part is that Wi-Fi service is free!!
For more information, please call the library at 662-6553 or visit us in person. Library hours are : Monday through Thursday, 1:30PM to 8:30PM; Friday, 10-6; Saturday, 10-5.
